frequently asked questions
How many cameras do you own?
A lot, probably too many if I’m being honest, and certainly more than I use on a regular basis. My toxic trait is that I like having options and I am physically unable to pass up a good thrift store deal, especially if it is already loaded with a roll of film… unless it’s one of those Kodak Advantix cameras.
Will you take photos of my band?
Absolutely, what did you have in mind? Portraits and press photos? Live coverage? Behind the scenes documentation in the studio? Tour photography? Let’s talk, I’m down for anything.
Are you sure that’s a collage? I can’t find the cut line.
Thank you, these are the kinds of reactions that I am always aiming for with my collage work. I feel most successful when the viewer is left questioning whether they are looking at a photograph or a collage. Maybe it’s a secret third thing that evokes both mediums.
So do you use scissors to make those cuts or…
It depends. I use an X-Acto knife for any straight or circular cuts, scissors for everything else.
Do you ever sell the original collages or just prints of them?
More often than not I’m actually selling the originals! That being said, I do scan everything I make for the ease of posting work to social media, getting prints of previously sold works or enlargements made, and including them in zines.
Is [insert specific work here] still available?
It might be, let me know what works caught your eye and I’ll check the inventory and get back to you. Purchased works are always mounted on a paper backing for ease of framing, and can often be framed for an additional charge.
What about your photography, can I purchase a print of a photo you posted?
Absolutely, prints are always available for purchase. I order prints approximately once a month, let me know what images you’re interested in a print and we’ll get it sorted out.
Oh, what exactly is a zine?
A zine [pronounced zeen] is a self-published, non-commercial print-work that is typically produced in small, limited batches. Sometimes they are photocopied but I have mine printed by a local printer, usually in editions of fifteen copies or so.
